I've been purchasing NIB/NOS 6AX5GT rectifier tubes for around $6 a tube lately.
With the price of NOS tubes climbing, it's refreshing to find something that does NOT cost you a mortgage payment?
6.3v/1.2A heater voltage, and you are in business!
Basically, it's an indirectly (slow warm-up) heated 5Y3 tube, with the same 125ma max current.
Be careful though, as the initial capacitor is only rated for 10uf, though you could probably go higher....to a point!
I have been using my 5v, 2 and 3 amp filament transformers to power super-cheap 5AQ5A and 5V6GT tubes instead.
