My Nakamichi CR-1A needs attention. It fast winds but when you select PLAY it wont lift the tape heads into position. It simply stops. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it. Is it worth getting it fixed? Thanks

I have an RX-505 that needs the same type of service and that's what I recall from a few years back.

That place is Electronic Service Labs. Top quality work, but not cheap.

Not cheap.

They are the guys for high-end Nak repair.

For a CR-1a, I'd use Approved Audio, also in CT. Larry does fantastic work.
