I still love my Nakamichi cassette recorder and playback set up and continue to make mix cassettes from blanks. The best feature before digital was the ability to play them in my car. When I could no longer buy a car with a cassette deck in the dash, I bought several WM-D6C's before the price skyrocketed. They were the best Walkman Sony ever offered. Now those have all naturally decayed even after I replaced the belts and rubber boots/grommets myself. I do use other sources in my car but this source still gives me pleasure.
I would like to have one or two of these units refurbished by a pro who doesn't mind the tight and delicate internals of these machines. Does anyone here know of such a place. I live near Austin TX so that would be a plus. Have not called those shops yet since some might say sure we can fix it without any prior experience with the units. Thanks for any help.
