My son is looking for a bookshelf speaker and I suggested Triangle Borea B3 again based on good reviews. Anyone has auditioned it? Any similar priced alternatives that you would recommend? Small living room, Yamaha amp, Rage of the Machine.

Thanks

Bill

Warmer, not as "forward" sounding as other Triangle speakers. It would be the Triangle model of my choice...

But it also costs more than the Borea. Of course.

For $400 they're hard to beat.

They do best a little way out from the wall because of the rear port.

I picked up a pair of Borea 3's as a play speaker. Sound is not forward having great midrange and the bass is surprisingly good for a bookshelf. I've run it with tube amps, and it now resides in my second system.

Managed to snare an EZ Comete 40th anniversary on sale and very pleased with it: punchy, lively, excellent imaging and surprising depth.
