I want to connect a fully balanced Ayre A7e integrated amp via speaker cables to a Velodyne SMS-1 bass manager, and from the SMS-1 to a pair of Velodyne HGS-10s. I've learned that the connection from the amp to the bass manager needs to be + only, with no ground. But what about the connection from the bass manager to the subs, does that need to be + only as well?

The manual shows the speaker level connections with +/- for left and right. Then, just run the EQ Outputs with RCA cables to the subs.

I know speaker output of a fully balanced amp can't be taken to ground, so only the positive side is connected to a sub, leaving the minus side floating. The point of my question is whether passing through the electronic SMS-1 bass manager obviates the grounding issue. That is, whether the output from the SMS-1 to the sub also needs to be positive only with floating ground.
