Hello,
I looking to have my Don Garber 2A3 monos and Y pre-amp serviced. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I live in the Boston area, but shipping these is fine if necessary.
thanks.

What's wrong with them? I have a pair. Very simple circuit and plenty of room in the chassis. If you have any soldiering skills, with help from folks here, you might be able to service them yourself, but we need more details.

Thanks for your input and offer to help out. I just moved and will have to unbox them to try to diagnose and repair with some guidance. It would be good to have a better understanding, as as result, appreciation, of the design. I will follow up with you.

Just to be clear, I may or may not be able to help There are others here, that can probably be more helpful, certainly more knowledgeable. Is was merely pointing out that these amps are a relatively simple direct coupled circuit w/o fancy boutique parts and plenty of room to work. If you can describe the problem, it might be possible to diagnose on this forum (asylum).

@Cpwill,
Your mono's, as other's have noted, should be easy to work on, if needed.
Your Y has to come apart in a certain order. Anecdotally, I asked Don about this when I had a Super X, and true to form Don said "call me", if and when it needed work. You are lucky to have this combo, proceed with caution.

I was able to diagnose and repair my Super X (just needed to replace a power supply resistor) with help from Don's friend Jeremy Epstein. In the end it wasn't too hard, but your monos have much better access. As others have noted, these are very low parts count amps which also makes repair easier.

Sorry, was just trying to emphasize the proceed with caution part. As you noted, you had some assistance from someone that knew Don and was familiar with the topology. Agree with the parts count, although in my EVO, they are very close together.
Serial # of your Super X by any chance?
