Just a silly question:

For the practicioners of CD / LP demagnetizing, has ANYONE tried a DVD or BlueRay?

Any VISUAL improvement? I saw and HEARD absolutely Epic improvement when I went to a good power conditioner. How about the degausers of VISUAL media?

SO yes the fact the picture had less grain, better coor made my day.
And this is sort of like what is being discussed. A tweak should be able to work on a video disc as well as a music one.

I would look for 'less grain' greater contrast, better blacks, clearer color (less mud)

Oh, yes yes yes, never get caught without having degaussed. Makes a huge difference on all no metallic materials too. Vinyl, oh, yes, more more more, and degaussing the wall socket plates mades the image so 3d.

I would like to add cables, interconnects, chassis, connectors, all those tiny little wires that protrude from transformers. Not to mention some monitors at work has demag function built in. You know, to tweak the picture.

The demagnetizer doesn't know whether the bits on the disc are audio or video bits. So why wouldn't demagnetization of DVDs and Blu Ray work? Just as CD liquid treatments can be used on SACD, DVD, Blu Ray.

Well Geoff, I'll believe that the demagnetizer doesn't have a brain of it's own when you can tell me why, not until then. Tweaker

Well Geoff, I do admit I have a lot of time on my hands being in semiretirement. Pictureguy seems to insist that he won't believe in or try degaussing before he has an answer WHY. This IMHO is a ridiculous position to take. Imagine taking that position on everything, never trying anything before you are told why to your satisfaction. Utterly ridiculous. And yes Pictrueguy, it does go against my world view and philosophy as it does most peoples. Never try anything or believe anything before you are given a good answer why. Am I missing something? The universe appears to work on the principle of 'cause and effect'.

An effect without cause? Irrational.

This is NOT to say that no cause exists for what some persons note, but no cause has yet been floated which accounts for the observations.

Exactly my point. Over on the OTHER thread, I got slammed for even suggesting it.
IMO, if demagnetization works for CD, it SHOULD work for Video Formats as well.
