I used the Magna Riser version on my 1.7i's. IMHO, Grant makes the best stands for the 1.7 and up series of Maggies. Well worth the extra investment.

I've tried pretty much all of the aftermarket stands on most of the Magnepan models.

How about the "Maggie Stands" now offered as an upgrade by Magnepan?

I can offer an opinion from my buddy who just bought Maggie 1.7i's and ordered the Maggie stands for them (very similar to Magna Risers) and he said they improved the bass, the highs and mids seem a little more focused and it gave the speakers more "rigidity".
I have used the Mye Stands in the past on Maggies and thought they were the best for supporting the speakers and eliminating any "wobbling".
