Hello,
I am using a Vincent SP-331, Chord Hugo2 with my LRS's and am considering an amplifier/integrated upgrade. What are or have others used with the smaller maggies? Please stick to personal experience only.
Cheers

The LRS are high passed at 100Hz/24dB using a Marchand XM46-AA passive line level crossover. Low pass to the REL T/7x LFE input is also at 100Hz/24dB.

Although the MK3 amps (rated at 60wpc) have plenty of power/current to drive the LRS full range beautifully, adding the XM46 did improve overall midrange clarity. I suppose this is mostly due to increased amplifier headroom. However, I also believe that, since the LRS bass/midrange/treble drivers share the same diphragm, removing low bass and reducing diaphragm motion from the LRS is also a contributor.

I currently have a Hegel H190 driving my LRS / dual REL setup.

Does the way you've set this up:
1. run the LRSs full-range?
2. or have you implemented a HP filter on the LRSs to match the roll-off of your RELs?

In my view, #2 is the optimal way to implement subs.

I am currently running full range but would agree that a HP setup would be optimum. I am currently refining the Digital front end of my system but at some point I will explore the response curve in more detail.

I would be interested in recommendations on High Pass setups using LRS's with dual REL's.

Be aware you can't implement a HP filter on the LRSs if you use REL's "high-level" connections to the subs.

The only way it will work is by feeding the output from your preamp into a 2-way active XO and then feeding:
* the low pass output into the low-level inputs (RCAs) on your subs, and
* the high pass outputs into the amp driving the LRSs.

Using something like a miniDSP 2x4HD would allow you to play with different roll-off frequencies, to decide which delivered the best sound; I would suggest you start off at 24dB L-R @ 60Hz.

and they work wonderfully well. I understand the M1200s are even better
but have not heard them.
