been listening to my Halcro MC20 for almost a week now, can't walk away from it. The imaging is laser accurate and greatly defined. I plan on doing a full review in a month or two.

At 400wpc/4ohm I'm thinking this would be great for a LRS or above if you're looking for a worthy stereo amp.

Haven't heard that name in a long time.

Did he use an off the shelf board or did he design his own boards for the MC20 ?

Don't know, here's the MC20 from a photo I quickly pulled off ebay.

There's a review on stereophile's website and I'm noticing the same findings in their subjective views (ie accuracy, ext low distortion).

which were Candy's top of the line.

HP had a pair of DM58s at Sea Cliff, but declined to review them.

I searched for topless Halcro MC20's and this is the closest post I found.

Apparently the modular power modules are the same for the MC20, 30 and 50 multi-channel models. The amp module is marked "Lyrus Audio Class D Amp Module", supposedly designed by "Bruce Candy", so it appears to be their own product.

There were a lot more topless pictures of its big brothers floating around (the H-Frame towers).

good stuff, thanks, posted on September 25, 2021 at 22:36:52

for:

-showing me the innards of the amp

-showing me there's a UKaudio mart lol, all I knew were the U.S. and Canadian version.

but I added those to my catalog of audio pics. Good to know they're on the other MC models as well.

I wished they made a mono amp versions of that module. The stereo amp is great but my speakers are placed almost 9' apart and it's a heck of a lot cheaper buying 2' cables vs 6'-8'!
