I am planning to move my monoblock amps into a rack along with the rest of the components. For aesthetic reason, I am considering to use one short (6 ft) and one long (8 ft) speaker cables (magnet wire) for the Magnepan 3.6. Would the sound quality be audibly impacted?

Use a volt ohm meter to check continuity of each length of cable. You will find no difference between the two. Your maggies will play the same.

Nike! aka Just do it. If the wire is 12ga or bigger (lower ga number) the speaker will never know the diff.

your speakers won't care about the length you're using, but the type may matter.

I'm generalizing but with smaller diameter cores you may notice an extended tippy top. With large diameter you will have a stronger low end. This is the primary reason speaker cables come with multi core smaller strands adding up from 16 to 12 gauge.

I've used single core small diameter but only on short runs to tweeter after the xover.

Your Maggie's couldn't care less, it's your ears that are sensitive to different lengths of cable.

It is recommended to use same length. You can roll up the cable to shorten it. The increase in inductance is negligible.
