Would Gekkos be considered planar speakers?

I think they are more like "flat" and obsolete, but not planar. I have a pair of them in my summer place and I was wondering if anyone on here might also have a pair that knows how to get the best out of them. they have been sitting there on my wall fro about 7 years now helped out by a HT sub my nieghbor donated to the effort, but I can't seem to get them to sound right.

I am sure it doens't help i have an ancient low-end Pioneer HT reciever powering everything but my DefTechs sound allright even with this crappy reciever...so... ideas?

Also, anyone know if there's still a source for the art that made them "invisible" ?
