![]() In the first half of the 1990s, I had a small number of friends, who attended UCLA. Each quarter, at midnight before finals week, students would scream at the top of their lungs. It was a way to blow off steam. However, by the early-2000s, the school tried to ban this midnight yell. In protest, some students instead started an "Undie Run." ![]() Friends, colleagues, and relatives now have kids at UCLA. Some participate in the end-of-quarter undie runs. Note that these are not officially-sanctioned UCLA events. However, some security is provided, and traffic controls put in place. ![]() Unlike other universities (such as my alma mater, UC Santa Cruz), this is not a naked run. ![]() For seniors, what a way to end their UCLA undergrad careers. ![]() Audiophiles grew up when populations were smaller. So when audiophiles joined their college undie runs, maybe these were smaller, relatively anonymous and quiet affairs. -Lummy The Loch Monster |
