In the first half of the 1990s, I had a small number of friends, who attended UCLA. Each quarter, at midnight before finals week, students would scream at the top of their lungs. It was a way to blow off steam. However, by the early-2000s, the school tried to ban this midnight yell. In protest, some students instead started an "Undie Run."

Friends, colleagues, and relatives now have kids at UCLA. Some participate in the end-of-quarter undie runs. Note that these are not officially-sanctioned UCLA events. However, some security is provided, and traffic controls put in place.

Unlike other universities (such as my alma mater, UC Santa Cruz), this is not a naked run.

For seniors, what a way to end their UCLA undergrad careers.

Audiophiles grew up when populations were smaller. So when audiophiles joined their college undie runs, maybe these were smaller, relatively anonymous and quiet affairs.

I guess an underwear run is a big deal for the many students from other cultures. Because the beach is just down the street a bit.

leaving aside the tremendous medical research contributions, guys like me benefit from the stuff they do with movies. they regularly support the Hammer museum theatre.

I once went to a Betty Boop film festival in a campus theater , one of the few theaters able to run the old highly flammable Nitrate film that early cartoons used back then, and learned that the Betty Boop character evolved from a dog character , and that's why she used to have the very long ear lobes in the early films, back when cartoons were made for adult audiences, and shown before the main attraction, after the previews . Some of betty's cartoons are a little bit different in the uncensored versions , not in bad taste , but I have never seen the uncensored versions on broadcast TV , or even outside of the museum setting.
