Times are changing for the Rural Route carriers. A process for monitoring mail volume has been implemented and most carriers are going the feel the impact of fewer hours and less pay. It's already difficult to adequately staff rural carriers and this new policy will probably lead to many career carriers leaving for greener pastures. It's a good day to be a retired city carrier

can't take the time to rub my yorkie's belly anymore. My little dog Skipper loves our carrier, runs to her and slides/rolls belly up.

The answers as to why so many people think the USPS needs fixing can be found in this article about the KC area post offices. It probably applies just about everywhere. I guess I got out while the getting was good.
