And back. On Jeff Bezos' dick-shaped rocket.

Yes the rocket is...like trying not to notice a big mole on someone's face. : )

Otherwise a great news story to wake up to.

Shatner seemed a bit unsteady on his feet after. He probably needed his walker, but that would have been bad optics.

...he was originally supposed to go up on Monday. NBC News interviewed him and he was genuinely afraid of not making it back.
Maybe if Leonard Nimoy was still alive, Shatner wouldn't have been so worried. After all, Spock always saved Kirk.

Who has the biggest between Musk and Bezos is what this is about. Branson will be left shriveled in the cold, or he could join the race if he responds to the right growth email.

Nevertheless, congrats to Capt Kirk!

Abdicating space to gazillionaires is dangerous to society. Not a peep from our political leaders. NASA, effectively, has been superseded and privatized. It seems like a trite sci-fi plot: mega-rich combine to control space and its mineral wealth. Weaponize it? Perhaps that follows, too.

Better than Shatner going would have been Shatner AND Nimoy going.

He will reach Mach 3 (3x the speed of sound) on ascent.
That's 0.00034% of Warp Factor 1, but it's a start.

This interview before the flight with Anderson Cooper was pretty cool - 90 years old - wow - he looks 60. I am a huge Star Trek fan but I liked him more as Denny Crane - he was a hoot that's what he was.

On that, we agree. "Boston Legal" was a great show.

I liked that they broke the fourth wall a lot. And a few references to Star Trek here and there. The last season of The Practice is worth seeing if you missed it - Allan Shore was largely the main character for the season and Denny Crane is in the last 4 or so episodes.
