I am enjoying very much the Mk4 Extreme DAC with the PS Audio Transport feeding it. I have not gone to the extent of adding the I2S digital interface and buying the corresponding interconnect. As we are all trying to optimize what we have and squeeze out more, I wonder if people who have actually done the comparison tell me if this is a worthwhile enhancement. I have been using a quality RCA digital interconnect primarily.

James,

I have the PS Audio Perfect Wave Transport and of course, the RAKK dac Mark IV; interconnected with the I2S interface. This is the premium interface for this combination without a doubt. The interconnect does make a difference, as it does in all cases, but assuming a good (not necessarily the best) interconnect, the I2S beats the pants off of either the RCA or XLR SPDIF interfaces. See the attached link.

I'll second Dave. I have a PWT and Mk3.5 with I2S.

Thank you Dave. Is there an interconnect you can recommend?
You can PM me if you prefer.

Hi divo,

I'll make two recommendations:

The best HDMI cable that I have auditioned is the WireWorld Platinum Starlight 7. This cable is uber-expensive, so I do not own one.

What I use in my system is the Cardas HDMI cable. This is an excellent cable, much better than generic cables.

Best,
Dave
