Hello there,

This is my first message to the forum and I want to present my best.

I love classical music and an bassoon and rackett listener. I read an github post today relatad to bassoons and I found it was interesting to speaker people also.

Post owner was saying bassoon have no fundemental note in its spectra and our brains fills the gap and there was no lower note in spectra , we hear everything low end.

Is it true ? If it is true , can we make speakers that way ?

Instruments don't have fundamentals, notes do. The fundamental of a note determines the pitch.

I don't understand the concept of a musical instrument "not having a fundamental".

Most compact loudspeakers are based on that :)

Google 'missing fundamental'. This phenomenon has been employed in electronic products since the days of Alexander Graham Bell, and in musical instruments since Joshua at the walls of Jericho.
