I hadn't spoke with him for quite some time and he's been busy. For the past few years he's been working with a new company designing new full range horns using field coil drivers. The products surely aren't cheap, but he's not doing market, just design.

He's also been downsizing and does have some new ideas for new DIY products and intends to become more active on the Asylum once he settles in and gets his laptop working again.

I spoke to Bruce about a week ago. As you probably know, he's in a long term care facility. He was recovering from another bout of pneumonia and sounded a little frail.

I have a pair of his Titans 2 that he built for me. Last time I communicated with him was late last year. The "Long term care facility" and "pneumonia" Is news to me. Super nice guy. I always enjoyed talking to him over the phone.

Thanks for the update. Yes, I was aware of the situation, but choose to be optimistic and didn't feel that it was my place to disclose that information.

I'm still hoping that he'll get his laptop running and we'll hear more from Bruce. Let us know if you get any new news. I fear that it won't be good news.

I talk to Bruce every 1-2 weeks. He seems to be doing better. He's comfortable and they take very good care of him.

Back in the day (the 80's and the 90's) information about horns for the DIY crowd was in short supply. You had to look forward to an article in Speaker Builder by Bruce Edgar about once a year, and there were references to AES papers of course but for some reason I assumed that you had to be a member to get copies of them. Bruce had said at one point that he realized early on that a large part of his job was educating people about horns and dispelling many myths about them, and he demonstrated this at several presentations I was lucky enough to attend. The Edgar Titan horn system is one of the best speaker systems I have ever heard, and I look forward to hearing anything he has worked on.

Dr Edgar is a really nice guy. But I found this site to be a bit weird.

It states there are 4 founders in the company which is reflected in the name, yet that has only 3 letters.

Interested persons are invited to experience the speakers, but their showroom is in China.

Then have a look at their speakers demoed at RMAF. Can you imagine anything with less WAF? But never mind the W, how many M would welcome something this large into their home?

All I can say is good luck.

I find them beautiful! very contemporary, would look fantastic in a loft, amidst some design furniture and modern art...

Well, it should have been ESDē for the two Dias.

I happened to hear the system at RMAF 2018 and it was impressive, but it may have been a few hundred thousand dollar system. And it requires a large room, think concert hall. There seem to be some less than state of the art products that don't seem to have any prices. If they were priced reasonably and they had a US distributor, perhaps they'd have more market visibility.

And I agree, the site is weird and slow.
