My coffee table tapped horn sub using a LAB 12 woofer (18 footer from the DIY board) has caused a domino effect in my setup.

Gone are the Klipsch corners horns in favor of Peavey FH1's with Klipsch K33 square magnet woofers. The mass rolloff puts me into my used Klipsch K402 with K-1133 drivers, taken from a theater setup. The Midrange is bigger than the bass horn (hats off to Roy Delgado of Klipsch as a prolific horn designer). The tweeter is the venerable B&C DE-250 Driver on the ME-10 horn, which sounds as good as a Berrilium driver costing 10X more.

I forgot to mention the Xover. I'm using only one capactor on the mid and one on the tweet, crossed over where the mass rolloff occurs on the one below. So, first order at about 375 Hz. and 6 Khz. respectively.

An Onkyo 706 receiver with the amazing Audyssey setup handles the rest.

I'm in heaven after owning 2 Khorns with a mono middle LaScala for 30 years, and going with the "big stack" of MWMs Bass horns, big JBL's and EV's,etc.

I'm done for now. Heck I may never complete my LAB 3.0 horns (Brad Litz) now that I'm loving this setup. Here's a shot of where I started AFTER I sold my Khorns. I will post my other setups. It has taken me over 4 years to get to my setup in the first post.

Forgot to mention that the receiver also feeds 4 Klipsch KPT-200's (2-way tractrix tweets with 12" woofers, ported and slanted) for sides and rears of a 7.1 setup for Blue Ray concerts and movies. It automatically goes to 2.1 for a CD, which still sounds amazing.

It's nice to have speakers that come from a real theater in your home.

Cool rig,

I had a similar idea but using the EV 640 and DH1 instead of the Klipsch. I just don't like titanium. I'm keeping the horn around in case I come across a driver I like better.

I used the ME10\DE-250 on top of JBL 2118H for a few years. Very nice sounding combo.

What do you like instead of Titanium, which seems to be similar to aluminum, which has been used forever.

For now I'm sticking with the DE250 and paper cone midbass. I do like big horns but the only big driver I have is the DH1A. IF I cme across a vintage pair for a good deal I can get back into the big horn.

What would you like. I have Peavey MB-1's, JBL 2360a, EV 640, 6040, 9060, and 960. I also have 2 JBL 2446J's and two DH1a's in terrific shape with shiny OEM diaphragms on all of them.

I have 3 EV DH1 going to list soon. Also matching horns and a few other EV midranges and horns about.
