Just wondered if anyone has heard any of this? Interested in recording quality. Seem to recall it being good on vinyl but ... anyway would like to hear opinions if anyone knows anything about these. Thanks tim

Not heard them but was looking and based on the analysis below I've held off.

Thanks. Forgot about that database. Yah those figures aren't the best. I'm guessing those are the best song/average song/worst song numbers? I guess I'm not 100% sure what the numbers mean. Yes dynamic range I get but wouldn't those numbers be impacted by the type of music? I would think something like a symphony would just naturally be more dynamic? Maybe someone could explain.

Here's some additional info. I couldn't reach the site a minute ago but from memory (could be wrong) if you click on the album it gives you more detail for particular tracks.

Last weekend I bought "No Answer" in 192/24 which was their debut album. To compare it I have an ELO boxed set "The Harvest Years 1970-73" in 44/16. I always thought the Harvest CDs sounded excellent, but the 192/24 version is clearly superior. Better resolution, more tonal richness, and just more realistic sounding.

The dynamic range is the only thing better about the 44/16 version. However the hi res version is middle of the road compression-wise. There are better and there are worse, just from using the position of my volume knob as an indicator. I will try to run the Musicscope program on it this weekend and post the results. I say take a chance.
