Just purchased one of these (on sale for $169 but they look to be back up to $199 on Amazon) and thought I'd summarize my first reactions. This M300 is a shade smaller than expected but that has pluses and minuses. The small size -- about half the size of my phone -- makes it easy to carry around. However, this also makes the screen small for reading and touching, but it is still doable.

Sound quality is better than expected with ample power for my Sennheiser HD 569 over-the-ear (not IEM) wired headphones (though I don't listen at headbanger volume.) Also works well with my Bluetooth headphones with good sound. It accepted my 128 GB SD card with almost 6,000 music tracks without issue and also had no trouble signing into my Qobuz account.

The HiBy music player software is only so-so from a music management standpoint but had no problem installing the Musicolet program which I found better. That's the nice thing about the Android OS -- you have full access to the Google Play Store so adding additional programs is easy. I added Qobuz, Plex and WiiM with no issues and they work fine.

Battery life is good for such a small player. My first day of use had it on for 15 hours (which included adding programs and getting things set up) and I finished the day with roughly a 30% charge. A recharge just before bedtime took just over 1 hour to 100%. I left it on standby overnight and the charge showed 97% this morning. Actually impressive since the small size of the unit obviously limits the battery size.

I debated whether to get the M300 or R4, the latter which is physically larger and has a more powerful amp. Note that I wasn't looking for the ultimate experience to replace my desktop setup, just good sound when I'm on trips and the like. Glad I went with the M300 as it is working great for my needs.
