I have long thought about double stacking boards and springs under my Oppo 105 CD player, but only got around to it a couple days ago

I experimented with I had on hand, a 2.5 x 6 x 12" marble slab, which was too big to fit under the player's shelf without the large springs touching- no bueno.

Geoff said to buy an 18 x 18 bluestone stepping stones/slabs (very heavy slabs are about an 1 1/2" thick and 18x18" and weighs about 40 lb

), but I wanted to use stuff I had on hand. I had a couple stacking gym weights , one was about the same weight as the marble block, but considerably smaller- no longer touching the large springs- muy bueno

On top of the player is a ~ 6" x 1/2" puck made with lead shot + silicone binder

I added 2 more springs under the player (6), which is not symmetrically balanced, as most components

I have been listening to Randy Travis' Heros and Friends, with a wide variety of voices and instruments. WOW. Everything improved, most notably resonance, but depth and focus as well

Another thing to try is to put all of your files on a SSD and play music with no moving parts. Muy Bueno with no spinning, dirty plastic disks and mis-tracking laser beams shooting all over the place.

hmm, still looks like you're getting some vibration ;-) (nt), posted on March 9, 2017 at 08:34:59

That's the room vibrating - the equipment is perfectly still.

LOL. The camera battery was weak and flash did not pop up, slowing the shutter speed

This isn't EXACTLY the clip I wanted to attach, but it addresses the idea of "relativity" relatively well :-)

all the best,

Or playing "Oingo Boingo", perhaps.
