LOL! Cost effective, if effective at absolutely nothing else. :)

I'm betting it goes along with the overall sonic plan of pointing the tweeters at the junction of the wall and the ceiling...

Here's someone who appears to have the budget to do whatever they please. Yet they come up with this pathetic sophomoric approach. Are they deaf?

1. he has another pair of speakers in the same room as his stats. I'm assuming he doesn't play them both simultaneously - so the cones will sympathetically vibrate when the stats are going.

2. the stand for the (very average) TT is ... to my way of thinking ... a joke. So I am assuming he mainly listens to digital and the TT is just an 'add-on'.

3. the coffee table in front of the listening chair will generate reflections ... unless he puts cushions on it, while listening.

Linn has always advised to put turntable on low mass stand. I think this qualifiers. Besides-maybe this works.

got them at TARGET.

Remember when LINN, I think it was, was saying the table you place your turntable on should be lighter than the turntable.

I don't think that idea lasted very long.

Notice the four indents in the rug? The little TT stand had been to the left a few feet, posted on February 27, 2017 at 09:32:55
Not that I care. But it seems the picture is just to make a picture of a pile of stuff.
Good thing I have no pictures of my pile. Tough crowd!

strikes me as even more problematic than the (pitiful) turntable "stand" itself. What happens to the tonearm when either the Sound Lab or the woofer of the lower of the two box speakers unleashes the bass drum from, say, the classic Telarc Holst LP?

Maybe it's just a resting stand, and the turntable levitates during actual play.

I think he broke the original when standing on it to change the lightbulb. Ended poorly. (nt), posted on February 27, 2017 at 14:17:01

Wal-Mart has (had) these stands for $8.00 each. They come in natural like the picture and a sort of cherry finish. I have a couple which have been used variously for an old Hallicrafters and a computer monitor and keyboard. Right now, one has my Dynaco ST-70 on it straddling an A-25. The worst idea was having a turntable on one of them straddling the other A-25. Any volume above a whisper had the needle jumping.
