When you could go buy a CRT tv with a VHS player built-in? And later, a DVD player?

Seems to me there is should still be a market for that kind of all-in-one.

Imagine a 13" to 15" LCD tv with built in blu ray? (even DVD)

What happened?

Now I rip all my DVD/Blu Ray content to the media server. Use Handbrake to convert to MP4 format.

I just returned from a trip to Bermuda where I watched movies on my iPad. Usually keep 10-12 of them on it at any given time.

You went to Bermuda and watched movies on you iPad?, posted on January 2, 2017 at 17:18:55

You must go to beautiful destinations like that a lot. I prefer to sit by the beach, trying not to blind myself with the umbrella in my drink... ;-)

Regards,

Steve

Looks like inmate riley804 found a few off-brands that still make TV/DVD-Blu-Ray combos. Everyone else has moved on to smart tv's or tv streaming boxes like Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV, Google ChromeCast, etc.

If you're still in need of a VCR, better hurry!

I seriously gotta find a place to fix my Sony 555 VCR while parts are still (?) available.

Heck, I also seriously need to find a Hi-8 videotape player.

Oh, and, does anyone have a recommendation for fixing the sled on my Onkyo carousel CD player?

:)

Better transfer all those VHS to digital.

And then follow it up with a permanent fix ;-)

The manufactures roll new things out every year. Maybe this will be one of them down the road? Could be that software is old tech, and streaming is the future as well?
