Okay, so I'm looking into modding my PAS3X's phono stage and I've run across a post from '09 quoting Joe's mod but it's a bit different than what's on the Curcio PAS page. Which is the one I wanna go with? Here's the link to the thread (scroll down like 3 responses or so): http://www.diytube.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3142
Thanks!!!

You really might want to read this before making any decisions:

I am planning on replacing the selector switch in my PAS 2 and using the "Special" and "Tape Head" inputs for high level inputs. The Phono input will go directly to the phono preamp, PC-6. I want to keep the RIAA eq as is and maybe increase the coupling caps to 1uF as many suggest.

What do I do about the 27Kohm resistor and the 750 pf capacitor that are attached to the middle wafer of the selector switch?

I was skeptical about such claims that the PAS Phono Stage deviated from the established RIAA curve.

My ears never told me this, and I have always enjoyed the PAS Phono Stage through the years.

I started my PAS Phono adventures with a Linn K18-II, then moved over to a Grado Gold, followed by a Denon DL-160.

18 years, three different Phono cartridges and pure bliss.

What more is there for prime budget sound.... not much at the price.

Today I am spinning a Grace F9 on a Transcryptor Skeleton TT, and I am still happy.
