A 60hz hum, both channels, shorting plugs on the inputs, speakers connected. So not an external ground loop. The strange thing is that it varies in intensity. Some days not there at all. When it's there, always both channels, equal intensity. Can anyone give me some clues as to where to look other than starting at the inputs and scoping through, stage by stage or looking at the various DC supply waveforms? My current speakers are 96db efficiency so I can kind of live with it but I'm building a pair that will be around 100db and am afraid it will be really loud.
