Any recent experience with good TOSLINK cables?

I've tried different combinations of Toslink vs. coax and found the nicest sound from my CD/DVD transport (Sony S7700, a gem!) comes via TOSLINK. (Interestingly, the sweetest computer audio comes via coax from my DDC). There's a meaningful difference, but please consider the level of sonic achievement we're dealing with is fairly modest, my serious interest being in my vinyl front-end. I'm using a Monoprice "premium" (like $9 instead of $4- Ahhahaha...) Toslink now but need a new cable and want a decent one.

Is current thinking that the best performance comes from from glass-fiber cable?

Are there any significant issues regarding the connectors?

I was considering the "Lifatec" Silflex glass, a firm somewhat outside the audiophile loop, link below. They make stuff for medical and scientific instruments that looks high-quality at a reasonable cost(like around $75 / 1m)- anybody hear these in action?

It may be 'out of the audiophile loop' but not out of knowledgeable audiophile loops.

It's about as good as you can get, at least IMNSHO.

I use the above with my Mac Mini and it sounds great.

Been on the radar for a while. Thanks for reminding me.

Audioquest makes an outstanding Toslink cable for one of the non glass cables. To me, it sounds better than anything other than the Wireworld 7's that I'm currently using.
