that JA had RJR review the Monitor Audio RX6 speaker since RJR had raved about the RS6 previously and had stated in no uncertain terms that it was a wonderful speaker. Good to read that the new RX6 is even better. I have been recommending the RS6 to my friends based on that old review and 3 of them are very happy owners. I did recommend the RX6 recently to couple of friends who are also very happy with them. I am now relieved since I had suggested without listening to the new model.

I wish there were some way JA could bend the rules of number of retailers and throw the Tekton Lores at RJR!

Cheers
Bill

I'd also like to see that review. It would be interesting. I'm certainly not waiting for a review to make up my mind on the speakers - I just received the FedEx tracking number on my new pair of Ferrari Red M-Lore's.

It seems to me that JA often breaks his own rules. I've read reviews of the Emotiva CD player and one of the Emotiva power amplifiers in Stereophile in the recent past. AFAIK Emotiva has no dealers. Stephen Mejias recently reviewed two offerings from Signal Cables. AFAIK Frank Dia (Signal Cables) sells strictly online. C'mon JA, gives us a break.

Stereophile's Five Dealer Rule doesn't apply to the magazine's columns. Both the Emotiva CD player and Signal Cables you've mentioned appeared in my column. JA explained this in his January 2003 AWSI, which can be found on our website here: http://www.stereophile.com/asweseeit/746/index.html.

In addition, JA makes allowances for products, such as the Emotiva X-REF XRT-5.2 loudspeaker (full equipment report to come in our August issue) from direct-sales companies with a proven track record. JA explained this in his October 2007 AWSI, which can be found here: http://www.stereophile.com/asweseeit/1096awsi/index.html
