I have the King Super Analog reissue with Iona Brown soloist and the Academy of St Martin conducted by Neville Mariner.

Also a huge fan of Vaughn Williams's other works.

Enjoy the music.

Was going through my Vaughn Williams albums today and I found 2 copies of the Bean/Boult on EMI. One was an original EMI test pressing. It has 2 records, each is only pressed on one side. I put it through the cleaner and on the turntable - wow. What sonics. The violin has more body and resonance than the other (Argo or London) recording. I also noticed that Boult brings out more voices and texture in the orchestra. Wound up listening to the whole album.

I should go through my records more often! So many records, so little time. An embarrassment of riches.

Enjoy the music.

Mine too - despite all the many fine babe violinist recordings! [nt], posted on March 1, 2021 at 12:02:05

I've been lucky enough to play it (i.e., the violin/piano version) with a couple of violinists - although I admit that the orchestral version evokes a much more pastoral atmosphere!

Lots of beautiful recordings of it - including Hilary's!

I like this flute version as well., posted on February 27, 2021 at 06:01:51
