This may be a bit off topic, but I was corresponding with DCH on another subject and added a desire for a SQ more like Redbook. They actually record all concerts in 48/24. This was a reply from a senior manager:

"We are working on this topic with high priority. At the moment, both internet standards and hardware device configuration make it difficult to create a consistent HiRes audio solution which works across all platforms (web browser, mobile, TV app, set-top boxes, ...). We are doing research together with our technology associate Panasonic/Technics to provide a solution at least on a number of selected new devices which support FLAC and/or PCM out of the box."

Playback formats, playback devices, playback resolutions, playback software, and DACs vary so greatly, what sounds good via one playback format/rig might sound awful through another......

I've stated this before, the odds of disappointment and/or frustration over sound quality of digitized music go up drastically with resolution...... Even at audio shows, I am rarely bowled-over by digital sources whose native resolutions are higher than CD quality...... (And in the few cases I am impressed, it's often due to some proprietary playback method. Case and point was the AGD Productions room at the 2019 THE Show, the playback source was proprietary and unobtanium to consumers, it was easily the best high-rez digital source I've ever experienced.)

My BPO-label Schubert box with Harnoncourt is 24/48 in its blu-ray incarnation. I wish DCH luck in streaming at that resolution, and I'm sure Panasonic/Technics would be a good partner to be working with in order to achieve this.

Another thing that seems to be getting started now is MCh streaming, although thus far, the resolution has been sacrificed in favor of the additional channels (except for a tiny number of titles on Qobuz, which Kal alerted us to over on the Hi-Rez forum).
