I'm seeking to tweak the interconnect connection to my amp. I currently find among my cables that the Wireworld Eclipse 7 seems best, edging out my Analysis Plus Solo Crystal. I also have a WW Eclipse 6, but it's too short to try in that spot. Otherwise, I have tried Analysis Plus Copper Oval-In Microconnects, Cardas Parsec, Audioquest Columbia, and Kimber Hero. What I find is that OFC or polyethylene are not as transparent and that OCC copper with either a Teflon or Composilex dielectric are the most open, but can be somewhat too strident on the highs on certain recordings.

So, I'm looking for that "sweet spot." I'm very curious about the Wireworld Eclipse 8, especially if anyone has been able to compare it to the Eclipse 7 or Eclipse 6 and can share their impressions of the differences. Budget-wise, used, I'd ideally like to stay in the $250 range. Any suggestions? In addition to the Eclipse 8, the Acoustic Zen Matrix II is on my radar

Find a used pair of Stealth PGS. Lovely sounding cables.

buy a Hagerman FryBaby to burn in the i/c you have.... After 3-4 days of burn in, listen to it again... you MAY decide you already had the right i/c !

+1. Worth a try for sure. Figuring it costs less (maybe far less) than most of the IC's folks are considering here. I've had one for years.

Yeah, I was going to post this.
I'm a Nordost guy, personally, but if I wanted something still transparent but slightly warmer, I'd look into Audience.

Here we go again: using cables as tone controls. Why can't we engineer az modern tone control.?

Actually, my preamp has tone controls, but very different from cables which I wouldn't classify as a tone control. I've tried the tone controls, but they address only one small aspect of the sound, thus I don't engage them. Cabling can affect tone to some extent, but there is transparency, soundstaging, imaging, bass reproduction, and body that cabling can impact.

While I have heard the impact myself more than once, cabling should just provide more of what you describe, especially transparency. It should not provide any sound of its own. This to me is cables in a nutshell.

How do you determine what's "neutral"? And then, how do you determine
what's "warm"?

Maybe if you stopped fiddling with cables and got yourself something
like a Schiit Loki Max, you could spend less time and money on cables
and more of both listening to music.

It is pretty obvious that your eally don't have anything to offer in this forum, other than to be negative about high performance audio cables.

See right up at the top of the Cable Asylum the link with the title:
Cable Asylum Mission Statement
https://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/d.mpl?audio/cables.html

There is also this aspect, also at the top of the Asylum:
The Cable Asylum is a DBT-free zone.
https://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/d.mpl?audio/dbt.html

You have posted several posts implying that cables are less than another component, and that an equalizer will do the same thing, only better.

If you have nothing better to contribute than that, GO AWAY!

Post again like these other posts, and you will be summarily banned from the Cable Asylum.

Then he would be just adding one more box and another set of cables to fiddle with.

The kind of tone alterations you get with cable are of a different nature than what you'd get with an equalizer or a tone control device. More subtle, more "integrated" for lack of a better word. And without the phase issues.

Gee Mike, you want to take my fun away from this endeavor!! Actually, I'm pretty happy with my system - KEF LS 50 Metas, SST Thoebe II preamp, Parasound A23+ amp, etc. Like most of us here, just trying to tweak things a bit.

I'm assuming 3 feet or so? Single ended or balanced?
Several come to mind. You could try Moon-audio's Blue Dragon. It's in your price range. I tried the Black Dragon (1 step up) and it was very similar to the AP solo crystal but with slightly better detail and focus. Ultimately it wasn't quite what I was looking for. If you are willing to stretch your budget, you could try Triode Wire Labs' IC. That's what I ultimately ended up with. It does most things very well, but is slightly forward. They also burn in the cables before sending them out.
Both companies have a good return policy.
Jack

You could try VanDenhul.

I have some Integration Hybrid that add a little bit warmth to the presentation. But I don't use them anymore, I prefer the more precise / transparent sound of my fake Chinese "Odin" cables ^^ you could definitely try some as they are right within your budget

Alternatively, if you're looking for a source only interconnect, you could try the VanDenhul "The First Ultimate MKII", which is 100% carbon fibers and has a very distinctive, buttery smooth but detailed sound - only a little bit let down by a slight lack of control of the lowest frequencies. A fantastic cable nonetheless, that everyone should try at least once. No other cable sounds like it!

Get a hold of Ernest Farley/ELF Custom Cables/username:wirewizard.
He builds a gold plated copper interconnect that is very neutral, slightly leaning toward warmth.
I believe that a 1 meter pair runs $150,.It has a return policy, so no out-of-pocket expense if it doesn't suit the situation.

These cables look interesting and are worth trying. If you don't like them, I suggest you try Audience Ohno interconnects. You should be able to find them for around $159 for a 1 meter pair.

+1 on the Audience Ohno, as I've owned these in the past, and while I loved said IC's, I couldn't say the same for their matching SCs, yet within your set budget, I'd recommend you at the very least sample several of the Oyaide Neo designated IC's, as the Japanese tend to produce slightly warmer | creamer cables compared to most other cultures, also don't overlook the IC's made by Supra out of Denmark, as they offer a very forgiving, yet balanced sound...-...-, a few of cabling brands which comes to mine, if you can find them?, as the companies are no longer around are Cobalt Cable Ultimate | CRL ( Cable Research Labs ) Blue Note Series.

Good luck with your quest.
