 This is a review of the assembled Dueland interconnect sold at Parts Connexion. It is the shielded connector selling for $269. I am comparing it against my reference Beldin 8402 interconnect
Now how to explain the sound of an interconnect? I discovered a clue in an interview with the late Glenn Gould. He was comparing Vladimer Horowitz with Sviatslov Richter. Gould said after a horowitz concert that everybody was talking about his octaves, Dynamics, speed and delicate touch. After a Richter concert everybody spoke about his Beethoven, Schubert or Brahms. Horowitz was described as a technician, Richter as a musician. I realized that is how I describe systems and components. A technical system vs a musical system. Of course there is some overlap but it holds up for me. I see myself buying components that sound musical to me. Tubes, not solid state, Shindo preamps, multibit (ladder or R2R ) dacs like the Audio-gd dac, Western electric speaker cable and Beldin 8402 interconnects. The beldin interconnect was the first interconnect that gave me a strong musical presentation The Dueland is even better. What do I mean by a musical presentation. You play some recording and you feel as if a performance is being created for the first time as you listen. You are unaware of highs or lows or dynamics or transients. Just a strong emotional connection to the music. All the detail is there but it sort of is in the background. I highly recommend this interconnect. You can buy the wire and make your own if you desire. Get some bulk Dueland cable and make up some speaker cable and interconnects. It is a transforming experience. I hope this makes some sense?  Nicely put. I heard Horowitz live in recital and I came away more impressed than moved. I'd rather be moved.

So, what RCA jacks did you end up using for your ICs?

 I just purchased the nonshielded version, with the Duelund rhodium-over-copper RCA's and so far, 20 hours in, find them excellent. I am not going to use all the superalitives, but they are there.

 The gold version Dueland rca connector appears to be a Furutech FP-126(G) with a custom organic material barrel.

 They had to substitute a comparable connector because they kept back ordering the Furutech. Have no idea what I have but it sounds great

 I have also been experimenting with the Dueland DCA16GA tinned copper wire made up as interconnects (unshielded in my case) by Parts ConneXion. Used between my Modwright Sony 5400ES and Pathos TT RR with Merlin VSM speakers and no BAM the Dueland are more natural sounding and musical than my $3000 per 1M Klee Acoustics interconnects. The Dueland also work well on the back end of the BAM with the Klee interconnects in front. Since all of the online reports on this wire have been on their use with super high efficiency (96db+) speakers their performance with less efficient speakers has been a question mark. Given the sound quality I am getting with 89 db Merlin VSM mme's, that doesn't appear to be an issue.

For me break-in was not complete even with 200 hours of listening and system enhancement cd's. However 48 hours on the Fry Baby (Hagerman Labs) cable break-in device made a dramatic improvement.

 Exactly and a big +1 for the Hagerman FryBaby. Considering the FB costs less than most of the IC's discussed here, it's amazing that more haven't bought into this little device. It lets you burn in IC's more effectively than break-in CD's or hundreds( maybe thousands) of hours playing time.

 The comparable Hagerman device (Frycorder)works just as well on power cords in my experience.

You have commented positively on the 126G before. It does look like they changed the barrel. I like the price on the Furutech branded RCA much better and would be inclined to go that way. The 126G is on my short list, but my finances are iffy now. I am expecting that to change shortly.

 The Furutech FP-126(G) is a very musical sounding rca connector. In my opinion, its sonic signature is the way the much more expensive Vampire 800/CB rca connector should sound, in that the bottom end of both rca connectors is full-bodied but still presents a very tuneful bass fundamental, whereas the top end of the Furutech FP-126(G) is less subdued than the Vampire 800/CB which sounds too bass heavy in comparison. Both connectors feature a gold plated pure copper center pin and a similarly designed body, so it's not surprising that they have a comparative sonic signature, but the Vampire 800/CB is almost unusable due to an imbalanced sounding tonality, to my ear.

You present a very good argument for the FP-126G. You describe exactly what I am looking for. Given Furutech's reputation, I would expect the build quality to be very high too.

 How long do your interconnect cables need to be, Dave? If you only require a short-length 0.5m pair of cables, I'll be glad to share an inexpensive DIY recipe if you have good mechanical skills with your hands, since it involves DIY wire twisting abilities, and an otherwise fussy hand-made mechanical effort, with an arts & crafts type of patience involved in the DIY process.

 CD player to preamp is .5m. Preamp to power amp is long. Eventually, I will do phono cables. but that will be a while.

 Thanks Alan. I too have been playing with the Deuland wire. I started with the dca-16 and found that it is a significant improvement overy my Kimber 4TS and Cardas SE15 speaker cable I had been using. After hearing what the 16 gauge wire did speakers, I ordered some of the dca-21 to make a test IC which still sits in the box for now. I am very impressed with this wire so far and hope that the ICs provide the same level of improvement.

 I began with WE16GA wire for speaker wire and Beldin 8402 for ic's when Jeff Day brought them to light on his blog. I then switched to Duelund 16GA for both speaker and ic's. Yesterday I received the Duelund 20GA wire and immediately built a pair of ic's with cryo'd Furutech FP-126 (G) rca's (thank U Duster). Holy cow! I spent several hours listening to Aaron Coplan and the word that kept coming to mind was "elegant". The sound flows with ease and is cleaner, purer and more dynamic. There is more of the upper frequencies that wasn't there with the Duelund 16GA. Oh, and the music is , well more musical. Going to run them 24/7 for 200+ hours now. Got to get me a FryBaby. Looks like I'll be buying some more wire for my speakers.
