Has anyone compared a Pangea PC with one of PS Audio's new PerfectWave PC's? They appear to have been designed by the same person, although to different price points (apparently).

Thats just it, people are buying and raving about the Pangea cord -BUT- they never compare it to comparable "Priced" cables that can be DIY. Granted it might be the best deal of the century for a finished cable, but is it really better than what someone can build for around the same price? Or other cables at a slightly greater price?

I only have Flavor and NRG cords as well as one DIY cord and am not in the market for another, so I won't be buying a Pangea "just because"....

It seems to me from sitting back listening to all the praise of the Pangea's yea its better than the stock cords one may have, that's great if your trying your first after market cable. I can't say enough about the new Perfectwave cables. I started last year with the Ac-3 I picked up 4 of them and was pretty impressed, recently I purchased an Ac-10 and Statement sc for power conditioning and my power amp the Ac-10 not only a great cable but literaly changes the sound stage beyond your imagination bringing out the full potential of your system high lighting no particular frequency and depth and placement of instruments totaly differntly than with out it in place 270 to 300hrs of play time is a must but great out of the box. I plan on getting an Ac-12 next but will try an Pangea Ac-9 and the Ac-14 with the new Sc copper just to see for my self but seriously doubt it. IMOP the Ac-10 and 12 need to be compared against the big boys and will slay them!

I agree. I'd be interested in a Pangea power cord (either model) user's comparison of such vs. a DIY cryo'd VH Audio Flavor 2 power cord terminated with Furutech FI-11M(Cu) copper AC plug and Furutech FI-11(Ag) silver IEC connector.

My money is on the VH-Audio/Furutech duo....

Much more life to Flavor 4.

The Flavor 4's give you good clean, powerful music....very little sonic signature of their own imo but brings out the best in amps.

I think highly enough of the VH Audio Star-Quad bulk power cable (Flavor 4) that I use it for my customized stereo subwoofer system power amplifier (Lexicon 212 made by Bryston) terminated with Oyaide 004 Beryllium AC connectors, plugged into an Oyaide R1 Beryllium AC outlet...

I consider it to be on par with (but different than) a number of more costly audiophile AC delivery products.

when you get the pangea you need about 200 hrs of brake in time I a/b the statement sc to the pangea ac-9. the ps audio was warmer but much more rolled off on to than the pangea. the pangea also was more dynamic.. at first we thought eh ps audio bass was better but the more I listened with a couple off different audiophiles the bass on with the pangea was more accurate and tighter while the ps audio was fuller but boomy and not as controlled. Alot of people like this cable for the money I replaced a shunyata taipan helix with a ac-9 and never looked back sold the shunyata and bought a ton of records...

I could say the same for the Plus Extreme the Statement SC replaced in my system depending on Component the Statement offered better timing of the musical spectrum, I like my cables to do all things well not just bass, mids etc just get out of the way, the plus offered nice pitch definition in the bass ,which some may think is better control but in most cases is just high lighted lower midbass response the statement offered better top to bottom control of the speaker. You dont even want to know how much better the new Perfect wave ac-10 does this!

Hey Dynaudio_Rules, I am interested in the Flavor 4 as well. You recommended it mated with Furutech terminations. Which models are they?
