Good ones are smooth, detailed, and liquid in presentation.
They make copper sound harsh by comparison.I don't think that any single objective measurement technique can adequately explain why silver is what it is.
Just my humble opinion.

Follow Ups:
We were loaned several sets of silver, siver coated and copper to check out in a friends system. We tried some Argento types that were about a million pound per mm and they did sound good, but they maybe smoothed everything out and things kind of lost something. In his system, Nordost Red Dawn sounded best, as it did in mine until recently when I went back to a basic copper after going fully balanced. The Kimber that I am using sounds far from harsh and even a few friends, who never now if I have changed or fiddled with the system, have commented that its really 'real' sounding now.
But as to why they all sound so different... it's beyond me.
I suppose different ears like different responses.
Have fun,
pure crap. The sound is far too sluggish and heavy.
OTOH, sluggish and fat is probably better than the really bad insanely bright and edgy cheap crappy silver cables that are prevalent on Audiogon these days.I know this is the absolute wrong forum for this, but I suggest if you really want to hear the pure magic of silver, you could probably do no better than Pure Note, Nordost, and Ridgestreet.
No, they are not cheap, but they allow you to finally hear the music your system's components have reproduced!
