Does anyone know of a link where I could view this older article
about transformers. It was written by Art Dudley in Listener Magazine
in Volume 4 #3&4.
Thanks

That would be great.
Thanks
There isn't an online archive of Listener articles. A few reviews can be found on manufacturers' web sites.

No I was not looking for a particular review of a product.I read
in a later issue of listener that I have, that Art wrote a quite
extensive article about how Transformers work or how best to match
them with cartridges. It supposedly was just a good general disscusion
that I never read and I am trying to increase my knowledge of them
to help with my Phono stage purchase. The article appeared in those two issues.
You guys promised a survey of SUTs :-), but you left us too soon. Checking my back issues, I only find the EAR MC3, but the ed. indicated he was also auditioning an Audionote, a Quicksilver, and some others. Which reviews am I missing, if you don't mind? this issue is relevant to me right now. Although my Quickie serves me well, I might, in the future, need more flexibility.
Thanks in advance,
P

I don't recall anything about a transformer survey, it must have been something Art was going to do on his own. He certainly never asked me to do one (I did co - author a phono stage survey with Jim Bailey - perhaps that's what you're remembering?). I think Art uses an Audio Note transformer but I don't know if he reviewed it for Listener . My collection of Listener back issues is boxed up with the rest of my stereo, awaiting construction of a new hi fi room.
