In Reply to: Which hifi stylus to replace my ortofon DJ stylus? posted by longtimequadowner on July 17, 2006 at 19:37:46:
Toss the DJ cartridge in the trashcan right now. The old Ortofon may be just fine, if it was stored in a dry place, and wasn't exposed to too much heat. If you want to replace it, however, and don't want to spend a great deal of money, there are quite a few choices out there. Ortofon, Grado, Audio-Technica and others make some good ones at an entry level price under $100 cdn. Another cartridge that is distributed in Canada is the Nagaoka. It is worth a look, too.

The old one is long gone, this poor turntable went through a few family members. I'm still going to replace this one's stylus first, the sound I had from the Concorde 30 of 15+ years ago is still etched in my mind - a very layered soundstage wherein I could "see through" the front layers to everything in the rear. Of course I had quads then as now.
