So I received my copy last night. It has the revised cover with balloons instead of Superman. After I got done with the second disk, I went to put the album away and realized that the balloons are a sticker. Having had a couple beers I just had to see if there was a Superman under there. I carefully lifted the sticker and sure enough there was a little red foot. I proceeded and now I get to look at the original cover. No damage occurred from sticker removal. The album is excellent by the way. Just thought I'd pass this along.Jon

Very cool! I've been intensely digging this release on CD, and checking the Asthmatic Kitty site regularly to see when the vinyl would be out. Thanks for the tips!
Keep in mind that Superman will only be on the cover (and covered by balloons) for early pressings. It's my understanding that if you bought the album recently as a non-preorder, the balloons will be covering nothing.I have superman. :)
Not that any of this should dissuade you from buying the album. It has some very good songs. All in all, I liked Say Yes! To Michigan much better, though.
I bought my copy of Illinoise last week but haven't had a chance to listen yet.What color is the superman beneath the sticker? My sticker covers everything except a little red triangle to the left of the sticker (the height of the red triangle is about half way between the two red lights on the John Hancock skyscraper). I may try peeling off the sticker, I don't want to damage the cover.
