that being said - I did extensive a/b'ing with my equipment only. You may not have the same results.I had much better tracking and dynamics seemed much more consistend across the record. There was simply NO comparison - my rig performs much better with the cartridge aligned using the Stevenson method.
My Analog Front-end:
- Michell TecnoDec
- Michell TecnoArm (based on the Rega RB-250)
- Dynavector 20xL
- Dynavector P-75 phono-stage

I have to take your word for it but it does raise a few questions not to mention eyebrows. It may not be because of the superior alignment scheme Rega uses but rather the fact that in some (more than a few) combinations with the Rega arm it is not possible to get the correct overhang using the Baerwald alignment. This may very well be the case and you are listening to a misaligned Baerwald alignment and a proper Rega (or Stevenson).
What was it Will Rogers once said? I never met a man that didn't like the Baerwald alignment. :-)
