then you might start with tubes in front and SS amp(s). Consider the amp the speaker's motor. I believe B&W designs all their speakers with SS. Tubes do some things better than SS, but I have never heard a good tube/B&W combination. There are any number of nice tube pre/phono amps in all price ranges; just be sure to get a good electrical/impedence match with the amp you wind up with. "Voicing" electronics is relatively easy once speakers and phono cartridge are known.
