The Ortofon RMG 212 is unique in that sliding the counterweight backwards will balance a lighter (as opposed to heavier) cartridge. A counter intuitive counter weight :-)

The tonearm is dynamically balanced. The spring pulling agains the circular housing around the tonearm tube provides balance and tracking force.

You have to adjust the counterweight using the set-screw on the side for zero balance - see picture.
