...If needed I'll post a Youtube clip of the track with a timing cue of where the action is. Just so those of you who are not familiar with this type of music get a better picture of the particular material involved.
Follow Ups:
if they weren't, the damage to them will show again even with any appropriate corrections to tracking force or anything else like antiskating.if you're going to play a record, use one that you are absolutely SURE is in perfect condition. Stop it immediately once you hear any damage and report back here

Like I wrote earlier the record plays absolutely fine with my alternate stylus, the AT3600L. And this is the first instance in 33 hours of play (with all kinds of music) that the ML, my regular stylus, gets fussy over something...
...most likely with an elliptical and there were sibilance problems on peaks. Played on a different stylus and they don't reveal any damage.
At first you're like WTF is wrong with my table, then eventually you find out it's the record.
I hope you find out what the problem is. Narrow it down
That ought to make sense I guess.
I've just ran a couple of tracks with very loud drums on 'em ("Way Of Life" by Gentle Giant, original UK press., and "Pure & Easy" by Pete Townshend, original US press.), and the ML still passed the test with flying colours.
Thanks for your help!
