...with a new Black/2 stylus at 2 grams. Grado recommends 1.6 grams for the Black/2.
The late Marc Morin who used to post on AK was a Gradohead, recommended 1.75 grams, so what's another half a gram from there?
You won't damage records, that's for sure.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
Follow Ups:
ask E-Stat if he knew Mark Porzilli and George Bischoff of Personalized Audio in NJ and Melos Audio and Pipedreams. They've been to Seacliff a few times. They were the ones that turned me on to this cheap little Grado that sounded so good
I heard some fantastic stuff there. the Big Stats, the huge tube Amps, the Syrinx Tonearms on Pink Triangle tables. It used to make this poor boy drool
And they had a second store in Indiana, PA.
The good old days.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
...salesmen know very little about Audio History, especially Tubes.
Ask a question and get a lot of double/triple talk. And they are usually busy in another department anyway.
I only go when I need an accessory or to look at vinyl and reminisce.
One place sells used and new LPs, also Rega, Elac, MoFi, Grado, Audio Technica.
The other joint is a Magnepan dealer.
What really killed off brick and mortar audio here was the 1980s recession.
Killed a lot of family-owned independent business besides audio.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
