I would say VPI wouldn't put a POS in there to begin with and he found a nice synergy with the Goldring. I've had Goldring's before and they are very nice.
Notice I said very nice not to upset hawks who think that saying 'good' is a somehow a bad thing. This place AA keeps descending every day and I'm glad to see there's intelligence remaining here on Vinyl. Have a nice week everyone

Notice I didn't say the VPI stage was a POS.
Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.

I noticed, that's my take and not anything to do with you
VPI is gonna use a better built-in than something from Amazon sold by a company with a name like BAWJKESP.
Came really close to buying a Goldring 1042 once. Probably should have.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
I have never owned a goldring, but figure a manufacturer of cartridges whom others choose to use as a platform to modify and then put their own name on it, has to have something going for it that others don't, aside from consistently good reviews. But, come to think of it, everyone has good reviews. A cartridge with a high end that sounded like a call to a cat fight could probably manage a good review from some guys, perhaps if it was also pitched to effect vinyl demagnetization , so they could have something to attract attention.
I was going to say I never saw a lot of advertising from goldring, which might account for their being a kind of under the radar brand, but then I realized I stopped reading audio magazines around the time magical rocks were reviewed and recommended as a must have for serious listening.
Curiously enough, the same people promoting a magical wooden center puck that recently managed some positive reviews, still had pages on their website about the benefits of magic rocks, but no longer offered them for sale. perhaps they don't curate their English language web sections often.
maybe they are waiting for someone who wants to build an "old school " set up, who knows?
They did offer a special kind of a dowsing rod, like those used to find water, but in a single wooden "Y" shape, that was held away from your components and changed them for the better, without contact, by focusing your Chi power, if you really tried, and of course, wasn't cheap. which is to be expected in audio , where ignorance , like in life, is never cheap.
it's pretty damned pathetic to watch equipment reviews on YouTube when the reviewer is unable to play any music with the gear in question. Copyrights are too expensive and difficult to obtain.
Just by coincidence, there's a Goldring 1042 listed for sale in the Trader right now. No connection to the seller.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
