Another in the HvK/VPO on London (or Decca) series. Yeah, it's a blue back if you're wondering. Was cheap though.

. . . in some ways it was a revelation to me, because the recordings of those pieces which I already had did not play up the sumptuousness of it all like Karajan and the VPO did. As I say, it was a real revelation in terms of the string tone and sheer beauty of the execution.
Decca's best lathe guy. Side 1 stamper was cut by George Bettyes.
I don't recall ever seeing that with a London or Decca LP. Usually the stampers for both sides were cut by the same engineer.
