Hi ghost of olddude55,
What mono cart did you choose? What arm and table? Same as pictured?
I have a copy of "Plus Four" I picked up in Japan a few years ago. Great record.
Follow Ups:
And it's mounted in the Dual 1219 as shown.
I have a boatload of mono jazz albums that I seldom played but I'm really enjoying them now.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
I also have a fair number of mono albums; the majority jazz but some older music, spoken word, and the like. Your posts on the subject have inspired me to try out a mono setup up in my office. I might even run it through "The Fisher" TA-500 and EV Aristocrat that have been gathering dust in the corner over there...
A lot of my mono records played back with stereo cartridges had tizziness on things like muted trumpets. Ella and Louis , Armstrong's voice was very sibilant. So was his horn.
The mono cartridge cured all that.
The blissful counterstroke-a considerable new message.
