Even when the LP was packed poorly, I've yet to receive one with shipping damage. From any source.

Percentage-wise, I agree with you. Though I've had a number of returns due to damage, most were shipped incredibly poorly (bubble envelope). I've also had some miraculously undamaged LP's arrive in abysmal packing or mangled boxes.

I got one like that years ago which amazingly fit perfectly in my regulation size mailbox. I was astounded until I opened it and realized the record had broken neatly in half. The seller couldn't understand why that would happen as all his other sales had gone without a hitch...-
And the cardboard mailers aren't any different than what the typical Discogs purchase is shipped in.

Having found the remains of more than a few LPs in them...album cover art being the 'dental records' or DNA to identify the departed...
