Listening tonight to Eva Cassidy on the Nightbird LP. Eva cashed in her small pension to arrange for this live recording at Blues Alley in DC. Tragically she died from malignant melanoma 6 months later. If you're not familiar with her ability as a songstress treat yourself to a listen. Amazing mix of simplicity, beauty, and emotion.
Follow Ups:
I have the boxed set and several CDs. I can't think of too many singers who me emotionally as much as Eva. Aurora is a current artist who does but entirely different songs and she is more of a "fairy" "ethereal" type of singer.
I have never seen an Eva Cassidy LP.
They're better.Steve Hoffman's remaster was reviewed by Fremer
He'd give it 11 and 11 if he had my turntable and system ;)

Got it. Apologies.
Fantastic Lp .
I have Live at Blues Alley, Songbird, Time After Times, and Wonderful World. Songbird is a compilation and Live at Blues Alley is the "live" one she spent her pension to record, IIRC.At any rate, all are very worth having and they sound great. Her voice is amazing. And gone far too soon.
