In Reply to: RE: How would you cut a 9.5 cm hole in the center of a rubber mat? posted by viridian on December 22, 2021 at 15:56:33
you need a piece of plywood bigger than an LP. Tack the rubber down to the plywood, and put it in a freezer for a day or so. To cut the hole there are several good ways to do it. I like the tin can method, but you need something of the right diameter that can be thin and sharp (even a hole saw). It's hard to cut rubber when it's soft, but frozen ; it cuts easily.
A tin can with a hole saw adapter holding it will cut it. Use water as a lubricant. Drill press is the best way, but you can do it with a hand drill. Your looking for 3.76", and a 3 3/4" hole saw will do the job.
driving trucks in the Greenland winter. Those frozen tires with a flat spot can rattle the brain, until the tires warm up. You also have to adjust the rear view mirror after your butt warms up the front seat and you sink down.
