In Reply to: RE: How would you cut a 9.5 cm hole in the center of a rubber mat? posted by viridian on December 22, 2021 at 15:56:33
you need a piece of plywood bigger than an LP. Tack the rubber down to the plywood, and put it in a freezer for a day or so. To cut the hole there are several good ways to do it. I like the tin can method, but you need something of the right diameter that can be thin and sharp (even a hole saw). It's hard to cut rubber when it's soft, but frozen ; it cuts easily.
A tin can with a hole saw adapter holding it will cut it. Use water as a lubricant. Drill press is the best way, but you can do it with a hand drill. Your looking for 3.76", and a 3 3/4" hole saw will do the job.
