from the reviews it looks like this one has too. The expedit shelving I originally owned around 2005 were much sturdier and better finished than what they make now. It started with the quality of the finish (veneer) and then the width of the pieces were trimmed etc. This latest batch is the kallax, thinner and cheaper than the expedit. When and if I move, these shelves will hit the landfill and I will build some plywood shelving.

Expedit was monumentally heavy and difficult to load onto a cart at the store, unload from the car when you got home. I bought quite a few of them and they're a bitch. Lucky I didn't give myself a hernia.
Anyway, I have a couple of Kallax, loaded with LPs and they can manage the burden just as well as Expedit did.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
It also had to do with saving wood and sustainability. See link:
I have had several of the Better Homes and Gardens racks for about 5 years. They are very sturdy, well made and good looking. Very inexpensive.
No brainer, would never consider anything else.
Have 25 yr old Ikea 'stuf' and recently bought Exact same items.
Which are Identical in materials/construction.
.
I bought 6x of the 'BILLY' at about 15" wide and 1 of the CD storage units in the same height.
I added a bunch of extra shelves (needed 'em all) AND the 45 degree 'corner' mount.
Toss in 4x Glass over Panel doors.
I bought a shelf from the home store and used that UNDER the shelves. Everything bolts TO the wall.....Each end unit is 2x into the wall and others just 1x. ALL are bolted together with a special fastener I found with round heads on BOTH sides. 4 of them with 1 between each adjacent pair.
I may add 4x top enclosures with doors, later. I'm simply OUT of space even though my projected added FEET of shelf space.
Old shelves....at least one of 'em is NOW bolted to the wall in the garage acting as a pantry shelf...
Increased Kitchen storage at least 4x by THAT move...
Too much is never enough
I've just bought two new 5x5 Kallax as I've moved an old 5x5 Expedit into another room. The only thinner section is the top and bottom panel where the thickness serves no purpose. The overall aesthetic I find far better with the now equally matched panels and the finish on the whole item in regards the vinyl veneer is better.
