At USD$30K in the UK, I should have kept my AR.

but would love to listen to their new Ekstatik cartridge.
This time it's not a Lyra made so I am curious altho I am skeptical of those screws on it.
Wait, what? Looks like same old same old.
And for 30 big ones??
Not surprised to see this; however, I think that this latest "super model" is just high-end equipment for people who have more money than they know what to do with.
There are much more affordable ways to upgrade the LP12 turntable (or Thorens for that matter) without spending 30K.
The best thing about the LP12 is the availably of replacement parts and upgrades from 3rd party vendors. Today, it is absolutely possible to assemble an LP12 that has no original parts manufactured by Linn.

or an AR! Father of them ALL
It's too much of a kit for me. Running Garrard 301 and SOTA botttom of line
" At USD$30K in the UK". Yes but a lot of that (20%) is tax. The equivalent US price equivalent is $24K ( plus local taxes where applicable). However I'll bet that the actual US price will be more than just the UK equivalent. Maybe keeping that AR spinner would have been wise indeed.
As much as I have fond memories of my old LP12 I would need to think very deeply about spending that much on a new one, no matter how much it had been improved, given the current competition. BTW my LP12 ( without arm or cart) was 160 gbp inc. tax ($220), list price, in 1974. Adding inflation up to Y/E 2020 brings it to.... 1700 gbp ($2340).
